  • I di not say that all Chinese consider dogs as a food source. I said some people do. I did not even specify the Chinese as they are not the only country in the world wherein dogs and cats are considered a food source. I made a general comment about cultural differences in this world.

  • As shnike said above, it's a matter of social norms. In most Western countries we are raised with the idea that cats and dogs are pets, companions, etc., but that is not true in other parts of the world. To some people they are just another food source.
