IMO it is the height of arrogance for any person to claim they know the mind of God and the day the world will end. For those of you who follow and believe preachers like this one, P.T. Barnum is supposed to have said that there's a sucker born every minute.

So a marine reservist with no known ties to Al-queda or Islam (per the article) uses both as a scapegoat ( i.e speaking God is great in Arabic and carring Al-Queda materials in his backpack) in order to blame Muslims/Islam as the culprit for his actions.

I di not say that all Chinese consider dogs as a food source. I said some people do. I did not even specify the Chinese as they are not the only country in the world wherein dogs and cats are considered a food source. I made a general comment about cultural differences in this world.

As shnike said above, it's a matter of social norms. In most Western countries we are raised with the idea that cats and dogs are pets, companions, etc., but that is not true in other parts of the world. To some people they are just another food source.

While I have no problem whatsoever with discipling a child when it's needed, the 75% who voted that yes, he should have been pepper sprayed need to ask themselves in all honesty how would they feel if it was their 8 year old who was the one that was pepper sprayed?
